Hi N, John's donation for his fundraising was acknowledged on our website but as you so rightly say it should be on the forums as well so here goes:
Fundraising Auction: A big thank you to John Dixon who hosted a fundraising Auction on the 29th March 2008 at the Stocks Tavern in Parbold, Lancs, with the people of Parbold giving generously to the heating appeal raising £1110.00. Local businesses gave donations to be auctioned off on the night and people gave prizes which were raffled, 3 professional entertainers gave their services for free. It was a full house with standing room only. A big screen displayed the Orphanage pictures and advertised the local businesses who had donated whilst the children in need style auction took place.
So a BIG THANK YOU John, for all his hard work and for helping as get nearer to our target goal to help the kids have a warmer, more comfortable winter 2009.
Andie

PS. I should also say thank you to Nigel who gave a week's holiday at his house, Four Seasons Retreat in Momchiltovtsi, as a prize for the Auction - his donation was really appreciated and I am sure helped towards achieving that fantastic sum.
Soz N - thank you for your donation and how could we forget you
Andie (and Carole & Amanda)

Well done, John and a huge thanks to you and everyone who helped.
Having met some of the children at the orphanage last week, your fantastic efforts will be greatly appreciated by the children. They have so little and little to do but smile and get great pleasure from even the smallest things. Kids in the UK would riot but they are very polite, friendly and appreciative of anything. Last week the temperature dropped to 2 degrees with the snow blizzard, so to have reliable heating and hot water will not be just for the winter months.
