Morning everyone!
Another great meet up last night - hi to all that came along - cackle and co, dai boy with his 'birthday group' and their ginger wigs,team pimpaclause, snow bunny and mo, edz, pokemon, kaye, gem + 5 and the others whose names I never got as they arrived later on and my brain had kind of stopped functioning!!- 43 in total - now that is some record...!!!
Anyway, i am sure you are all more interested in the weather, so the good news is....another 40cm fell last night and it's still snowing now with no sign of stopping.... So...run conditions are the same in terms of everything open but the conditions are getting better and better. The locals say they're still not great, but everything is freshly pisted, there's plenty of snow and the rocks etc that have been showing through have now disappeared.
To summarise - everything exactly the same as yesterday for the moment, so I've copied and pasted...AGAIN!
Yastrebets 1, 2 and 3 open - EXCELLENT CONDITIONS on all 3 slopes
Fon Fon - open - excellent conditions
Gondola open and run down to Yastrebets - EXCELLENT conditions -
Nursery at top of gondola is open - EXCELLENT CONDITIONS
Markudjik 1, 2a and 2b are open, 3 is still shut - EXCELLENT CONDITIONS
MUSSALA PATHWAY - open - EXCELLENT CONDITIONS
Rila, iglika and yanakiev (Rotata) drags open - EXCELLENT GOOD CONDITIONS
Martinovi 1, 2 and 3 are open- EXCELLENT CONDITIONS
Sitnyakovo Express - open - EXCELLENT CONDITIONS

Weather update sounds good! Wish I was there. Really hoping for conditions to stay good/get better so I can come a second time in March. Just want to say thank you for your daily updates, this is mine and my friends first ski/snowbaord holiday and we were a little bit sceptical about bulgaria and what the weather may be like but you have given us all the info we have needed and are now really exited about coming out on the 23rd feb. thanks again.

Hi All,
Quick update on the above....piste bashers are still out and trying to compress the snow, but because it's now closer to 60cm of fresh snow, as soon as the first skier goes over it, it is soft / powdery again practically immediately...!! Skiing down all the way to the bottom of the gondola is also excellent for the first time this season! Still snowing heavily up top, moderate down the bottom and conditions are now said to be fantastic and even the locals are happy!!  |

Thats fantastic news , we are returning to Borovets on friday for 8 days and would be great to meet up. Once again I would like to thank you for all your updates, I don't know how I would survive without them.

The actual weather from someone "on the ground" is always going to be , forecasts. Kas has always told it like it is , so yes the forecasts are wrong.

Hi Charlie Boy - I can confirm that unless my eyes are seeing things due to the rakia last night, then it is definitely snowing as I look out of my window.... It is now very light snow, but snow all the same..... Not sure why the weather sites are showing you sth different but I can confirm it started snowing on Saturday morning circa 4am and has snowed pretty much non-stop since (bar a couple of hours) alternating between light and heavy snow. |

Happened across your discussion board, whilst googling the conditions in Borovets. (am coming out on Feb 20th)
Anyway ... they have kept me entertained and informed and I wanted to say thanx! I shall be checking in each day for the next week or so and very much hope to find plenty of snow and good times when I finally make it to your part of the world.

I feel kinda cheated-my one (and now only week-hubby will not go back ) to Borovets first week in Jan was awful. It sound so good now -hope you all enjoy sooooooooo jelous  |
