We are just waiting for our transfer back to Sofia now (5am) and we have had about 25-30cm of snow overnight.
Not sure we are going to make the airport!!

Oh My God!!
What a journey from hell that was. We left the hotel at 5am (3am uk time) a JCB had to clear the hotel road for us to allow the taxi up to the resort to collect us and then back out.
We saw nuumerous crashes all the way down the mountain road, and the max speed was 40 - 50 kmh. Fair play to the driver he was excellent.
We got about 20km from Sofia and just stopped in traffic, cars were stuck on hills, lorries were being pilled up and being stopped from going up certain roads.
About 10km from Sofia a VW golf came round a corner and was out of control, I thought we were going to hit him but he managed to stay in his lane, he looked pretty pleased with himself until the 4x4 which was behind him went straight into the side of him.
We finally got to the airport and along with alot of others we had missed the flight by about an hour and a half. (Finally got to the airport at 11am) when we should have been there at 7.30ish.
Had to book another flight along with the others to Heathrow instead of Luton which left at about 2.45pm. Arrived at Heathrow and had to get a National Express to Luton, the drove home. Been in about 40 minutes.
Oh and to top it off some bloke was ill on the plane and they had to call for a doctor over the tannoy!! |

I know steve, the thing was we rang them and said do you want us to go to the airport on Sunday night to make sure we get there? "No No we will be ok, its 2.30 mins journey"
It did start to clear at one point and we thought we were going to be ok, then we just hit the traffic and didn't move.

Hi Steve
I am coming out to Bansko again on 28th Feb with friends for a week .. this will be my 5th time !!
Last year ( mid march) was the first time I have ever seen snow in the village of Bansko and wow there was heaps of it ....
is that the case now?
