Hi, guys!I was wondering if there is usually snow in the first week of January in Bansko. I am thinking about visiting it then but I am worried that there will be no snow. How was it last year?

Always. First week of January there is however also an avalanche of Russians out for their Xmas. And pikey Russians to boot, the rich ones being in Val d'Isere et al. If you can't take 20 people pushing into a queue you've just waited an hour in, pick another week.re: Bansko Snow Forecast
Last season was a great year all round compared to 2007, we're off 18th Jan to Bansko but at moment there's plenty forecast as a for beginning of the week which will make a good base so fingers crossed.enjoy

matBeen the last 3 years in that week always skied and never had problems ,tip of the day ;get up the mountain nice and early you will love it !
ps dont read to much in to the gloom mongers that seem to patroll this site

Hello out thereI am going to bansko on the 22Nov for afew days to have alook around and want to know if it is better to book accomadition before i go or when i get out there. thanks

I hope there will be snow there as booked to go 2nd week in Jan ourselves..... Not long now...counting down the weeks
