Hi

Ive bought a couple of places in Bansko one is ready to stay in in Aug07 so we (Me & Mrs) have decided to spend 2 weeks in Bansko.

We have been before but for only a couple of days - can anyone please give us advice on where to go what to see etc. I have seen a stunning lake on some websites from the Bansko area but it has eluded me on the maps - which again in the Uk are not very detailed about Bulgaira.

Also our Swimming pool will not be H&S ready until after we leave so which is the best hotel pool to use & not too expensive?

Another thing there is a Rugby Game on during the first Weekend in Aug England v Wales & a few other Rugby World cup warm up games - it should be only on Sky Sports so is there anywhere which would be showing it.

Many thanks and Im looking forward to catching a few Booze and some really nice local food.

Hi,
i myself live here and theres plenty to do, on the walking side, there are loads of walks up into the pirin mountains. The walk upto vichren hut is a nice walk, about 3/4 hrs through the forest, or if you want to see those mountain lakes and save time, you can get the bus upto vichren hut ( 4 leva) and then walk past it to the lakes, the first one is about an hour away. Maps can be bought locally. oh yeah the bus runs from the strazite hotel, twice a day.

On the pool front, all the hotels have pool but charge quite a bit. for the best, they are just out of bansko. Firstly you have the Piry hotel, which is about a 2 min drive or 15 min walk towards Banya. this has a couple of pools, couple of football pitches, a vollyball court and a really nice bar. Again for 4 leva for the day. Then you have the new spa in Dobrenshite, which opens in 4 days time. Again 4 leva for the day, with water at 38*c should be nice.

For the rugby, try the avalon hotel, as the lion bar hasn't got there sky box at the moment.
