Boro in Summer

I’m thinking of returning to the rila mountain area possibly Borovets in June/July for a week, as it would be nice to bring my wife and maybe do some walking. Canx any one tell me are the lifts working in June/July and are many places open in Borovets and the other ski areas. Do the hotels/ B&B close for the summer, and what kind of weather do you have that time of year.

Lifts are open, especially at weekends. Many hotels and bars stay open. Weather is usually around the 30's, last August reached 40's for a few weeks.

Talking to some English people who went to Borovets today. Lots of places were open and they (including children) enjoyed it.

Riding stables are open all year too, if you fancy a change from walking. They have a variety of rides on offer from 1 hour to 7 days trips.

I know the Rila Hotel stays open for the summer but not sure which ...

I know the Rila Hotel stays open for the summer but not sure which others do.

I believe Bansko stays open all year, as they have a jazz festival in the summer.

Hope that helps - have a good time and watch out for the bears Exclamation Very Happy Very Happy

re: Boro in Summer

The hotels are al generally open, along with more restaurants each year, as its getting quite busy in the summer now. As well as the Horse riding and walking you can take mountain bikes up the gondola and cycle back down (an experience) and theres the lake as well for the usual water sports, its only about 20 mins away.
We tend to do quite a few picnics and BBQs as well especially down by the Iskar River, great for the kids. Weather is usually very warm with a nice breeze in the mountains. ...

re: Boro in Summer

hi there, yes i know for sure that Rila hotel is open during summer. indeed last year i went there with some friends just for a couple of weeks. I used their website for all the info. which i think is this one - www.borovets-bg.com ; check this out. it might be helpful as it can give you some idea. i remember seeing some other hotels being open in summer while staying there but frankly can't rememeber the names. hope this helps
