Another 4 boarders and 4 skiers coming out from the Isle of Man on 18 Feb too! A couple of the boarders are newbies. The boarders are all lads in their early 20s and the skiers (us!) are two oldies (the parents) and two 16 year old lads.
I did'nt know if it was too early for a roll call but I'm getting pretty excited!!
Sorry dont know anything about the snow park but we will see you there in a few weeks.

Just booked after a year off recovering from a nasty fall on Yastrebets 2. Am actually quite nervous, but the conditions look fab and if I don't get back on ski's now I may bottle out all together. Coming out on my own as all my friends are tied up doing other stuff but its always such a friendly resort that I'm sure I won't be alone for long! I used to live on the IOM Helen - Ramsey, still miss it now!

Sorry to hear about the accident Caz!
Two weeks Saturday now - weather looking a bit on the chilly side, but plenty of fresh powder on it's way, so should be perfect.
We're staying at the Iceberg - never stayed there, and thee are mixed reviews online.
Has anyone else stayed there? |

Hi everyone
20 of us out on Sat 18th to Borovets!!
17 skiing and 3 boarding including me.
Party all made up of family's and friends, ages 7 up to 50.
For me it's my first time!! Really excited and cannot wait!
Hope to meet some of you during the week
Look out for the big group taking over restaurants ect !!!

the Samakov is really nice.
Still unsure if Iceberg where we are staying this year - very mixed reviews!
I can't recommend the Titanic and Mamacita's enough - really friendly and great food |

powderhound and powderpuppy staying at the samakov this is our 3rd year and it looks like great snow conditions 
both skiers ,saved the young padewan from the dark side 
the puppy is a grumpy 16year old |

I'm sure you'll hear us scraping behind you, and sat n front of you on the piste! There again, I'm sure we'll see you stood in the middle of a narrow flat bit we've only just got enough speed to get round!
We are all in our mid-thirties, and trying to retain our youth.

Ian - Good luck with The Iceberg the reviews are mixed! I can't place it. Your hotel is ranked one behind mine (Moura) on trip advisor ! I'm not expecting anything too fancy as I got a good deal but hopefully the Iceberg will be OK. I've stayed in the Festa (Beautiful) and the Alpin (horrible) and had a great holiday both times! Fingers crossed the heaters are on. |

The Moura is fine - we stayed there in 2007, and it was great (we invented human bowling in the nightclub!).
The first review on trip advisor for the Iceberg was titled "Horrific", so didn't fill me with confidence!
We'll still have a great time. Hope to bump into you guys (not literally though!) |

Please don't read too much into negative reports on Trip Advisor, have travelled extensively and often check out the hotels i'm staying in on TA and end up suffering from anxiety only to arrive and be more than happy. Unfortunately there are many who will write a negative review and far too few that will post a positive.
Bulgaria is a very good VFM option - it may not be Whistler or Val D'Isere but neither does your wallet groan and have a cardiac arrest at the end of your vacation!!
Go with an open mind having considered your outlay. The people are friendly - if you smile they smile back. The conditions this year are enviable and the deals to be had are unbelievable. ENJOY!
Oh and WRT Snow parks there is one at top of Yastrabets that looks pretty good and they have also made another smaller area at bottom of rila slopes opposite Ice Angles Hotel 
Arrive back in Boro 24th Feb and will be having a night cap in Bobbys if anyone fancies regaling tales of their week, Nads |

N&j - couldnt agree more. Just wonders what people on the forum thought as it's usually honest feedback.
Is Bobbys the bar where the guy normally shouts "cheap as Asda" outside? Great bar, but not sure I've got it right.
Less than a week to go, dumping it down, the terrain park looks great, and it's Kas's birthday - what more could we ask for! |

Make sure when you go in Bobbys Bar you tell them who you are off the forum as you will get extra discount although the prices are very good anyway. Also that way the other forum members will introduce themselves. Wish we could be there as it looks as if conditions will be fantastic.

5 of us Welshies coming out on Sat 18th Feb so will be sure to pop in to Bobby's on Sunday and wish Kas a Happy Birthday.
We're staying in Dolna Banya so we won't be able to party much unfortunately but would love to meet other forum members whilst we're there.
Does anyone know what the road conditions are like on the Dolna Banya to Borovets road? I've been told we may need snow chains? 
Just 3 sleeps to go know and looking forward to checking out those perfect conditions everyone's been talking about! Maybe this year I'll be less like Bridget Jones and more like Franz Klammer!

Soph, out of reception, go slightly left till you meet the road, go right for 20/30m then turn left slightly uphill and Bobby bar is the first bar on the right with a huge white banner.
Tell the staff you have sought them out due to recommendation on this forum and you will get a discount on food and drink. Enjoy your FREEEEEEDOM!!!! N
