All runs open and no queues whatsoever.
If you're heading over to Pamporovo soon it's well worth a visit.

Cool

Hi Pete,

How do you get to Chepelare, arent the local taxi's somewhat expensive?

Can you use the same lift passes? Havent been over there but am keen to give it a go this year.

Thanks!
Vicky

Hi Vicky,
We always go there with Bulgarian friends who take us there. Prior to that we used to get a group of about 12 together then hire a mini bus for approx. 10 levs each.

The lift pass from Pamporovo will not cover Chepelare. You need to buy one at the kiosk at the bottom next to the 4 man lift. 1 days full pass is 18levs.

Cool

Chepelare, is the 4 man from the town to the peak working? and you may want to try the ski area up on Perelik, look it up, three ski areas in a very small area, soon someone will have to make a universal pass and link them up, Stoikite is probably the best hub for this.

Forgive my ignorance but is there any way or any plans to link up Chepelare and Pamporovo? Or is the geography such that that just couldn't happen? I understand their only 11km apart but what that distance would be along a mountainside I don't know. I only ask as we did Borovets two years ago and am off to Bansko in two weeks time so would potentially like to try the other resorts too. Three of us normally go on these trips but it seems our partners are interested in learning too, Pamps sounds like a really good place to learn but I wonder if we slightly more experience skiers would find the relatively less piste on offer there limiting? Hence I ask whether it could be or are there any plans to link in Chepelare as the relatively small 20km or so of piste in each resort could become a more viable 40km or so. Just a thought. G.

Well the mechi chal peak is above Stoikite, its straight downhill so a piste and a new 6 man would work.

The only problem is that the piste would be south facing and have the sun on it more. Like the smolyan lakes run

The only set back at the moment is how to share the money out. As they are different resorts it's a case of who gets what. I am sure with technology now a microchip in the card would show where the user has been and what persentage the company should get. Just get on with it I say! and the ahem (Perelik Project) which seems to be a fantasy idea.
