Intending to go sking in Bansko on the 16th Dec. Can anyone tell me if all the ski runs will be open and also what date do the slopes start to get busy for Xmas?

Resort opened Dec 1st last season though most of the snow was from cannons and only four pistes were open and the ski road to the town. We did not have appreciable snow till Christmas day..
Was not overly busy for the whole Christmas/New year period, doubt it will be any differant this season.

Was thinking of going to Canada but obviously much more expensive. So my pocket told me look back at Bansko!
Was in Bansko in Feb and had a great time, but did not want to be disapointed with lack of snow and long q's in December.

Its very risky to go anytime before Xmas. If you insist on going at that time wait until the last minute and see if there is any snow.

Will keep all up-dated with the true snow conditions as the season starts to unfold...
Fingers crossed we will be ok, the `old ladies' in the town are predicting another hard winter... Wink
Off subject slightly, but these `old ladies' are amazing, the one opposite our old apartment could predict the weather, simply see if she had hung out washing, could be the clearest morning, but if there was no washing then you could guarantee it would be chucking it down by the end of the morning Confused
Wonder if she would give me the lottery numbers ??? Very Happy
