Hiya
Mamcitas is a legend, we've told friends about it who've gone and named it their favourite place - mexican food, good entertainment. Black Cat, near the bottom of the Rila nursery slope (not sure of how to direct you, you just kind of come across it!) makes fantastic pizzas, one of those at lunchtime and you won't feel like skiing!!
As for prices, we weren't there last season but I believe they had gone up since we were there pre-EU, best thing is not to try and guess I would say, because no doubt they've gone up again this year!!

Keep your eyes peeled for the location of Aimee and Arie's new bar, cheapest beer in Boro last yr 1lev a pint during happy hour and 1 lev 80 at all other times
Other than that you'll find beer is around the £2 a pint mark with lots of bars doing happy hours that'll be 2 for 1...
Black cat is great for food also Katey's stake house in very good,to be honest most of the resturants serve good food it's just ashame the hotels didn't follow suit....

Hi jocrad.
You don't mention any request for skiing advice ie; boot hire, ski hire, snow conditions, instructors etc.
If it's only beer your going for try blackpool.

Can really, really, really recommend Blue's for a steak. It's up the road running paralell to the main street, and it's just a blue building with wood carvings outside. You may need to book, or wait for a table, but I think it's Boro's best kept secret. Doh!
And Aimee & Airee's bar is just legend!

dont forget 'Titanic' great food, especially at lunch time!
in all fairness nearly all the restaurants do good food, as Tiger said cant understand why the hotels cant follow suit.
Francos is always manic of an evening, and the Black Cats good for the evening not just for the food.
and for Guiness lovers every where........ i can think of four places anyone do any better?

I have to agree with Tufty, 'Blue' is def boro's best kept secret!
It really looks like an opium den from the outside, very colourful, but when you get in its lovely and the foods fab.
Nobody's mentioned Chilli's yet, which is on the main street and always busy.
Pretty sure you'll have a fab time!

Which bar are Aimee and Arie at then? Directions from bottom of Gondola would be appreciated - don't recall hearing about them before this year so maybe they weren't around last time we were there Xmas 2006.

jocrad, this year (last season) it was called Alpina and was out of gon-dola, turn right and up the hill 100 m then cross the road Dunno this year as they are looking to expand but everyone hopes they will be there
Steak in Blue is aberdeen angus Yeah right......... but it really is and was to die for! I like rare but it came blue and I tried it and it was perfect! Melted in the mouth perfect
black cat for karaoke
Titanic for beers and food
Boni is also the least seedy exotic bar (so Im told)...........(by my wife)
Georges bar for a quick mid run drink if you can find it
Not long now
when in Jan you going? We (td and I) are there on 24th Jan
