OK Guys...We need o use the power the internet.
I found a wallet on the slopes in Bansko today. Luckily there wasnt a large amount of cash in it, but there was some ID.
The guys name is Michael Parkinson.He is from Lancashire. His is a police man. As I said there wasnt a large amount of cash, but there was a few bits & pieces in the wallet including his work phoo ID & credit card.
We have spent the day asking British people if they know of this guy, and we are getting some funny looks & comments!!
Anyway I am staying at the Lion hotel in Bansko untill Saturday. If you know this guy please contact him.Let him know I have his wallet. Please leave his details here so that I can reunite him with his belongings.

Report to local Police - and the consulate.
Whatever you do - do not get caught coming back into UK with this guys warrant card. You would have a lot of explaining to do - as innocent as you are.
Seek advice of tour rep. If they offer to take it from you, make an itemised list of contents - details of tour rep - and report the find to the police in UK and local cops.
If the cop has not already reported this himself, he could be in deep... chances are, as a responsible person, he has reported the issue to the local Police, his hotel, and tour rep.
Whoever you end up passing the warrant card, and wallet to, please keep a record of who, when and why you passed it on.
Also, you could try calling his bank to let them know you have found his card.

Come on guys....its not Coronation Street.
This is the world wide web. Surely we can find this guy by the end of the week?????
We are not English, we hail from the republic of Ireland and are honest by trade.
Dont want to make any issue of this. We want to find this guy. Please try to keep this near to the top of the forum.
When we return home we will forward the lot to Lancashire police, but until then we will try to find our man in Havana......I mean Bansko!!!!
Come on people.....How many Michael Parkinsons are there???????
Dont quote a number....there are 300+ on facebook..we couldnt see him!!!!

Come on people contact lancashire police on our behalf. They may know this guys phone/email. Some one must know where he is staying???

I should think he well deserved a holiday after all that. Very bummer he has lost his wallet and hope it gets back to him - well done on you Charlie!! Contact Lancs Police they will get it back to him - though I think he may prefer they do not know he managed to lose it!! Hope you find him in resort.

As I noted, I contacted the Lancs police yesterday (no response thus far). So I think you've done all that can be expected of you. If he doesn't reclaim it by the end of the week, at least destroy the warrant & credit cards

Im sorry, kinda `par for the course' where the UK plod are concerned.... why on earth was he carrying his blooming warrant card, i know they are never on `holiday' but to lose your wallet containing such an item ??? imagine if someone less savory than Charlie found it ???

Wallet Update...No sign of Michael Parkinson!!!!
Asked three Reps, and one tried to give us a wallet belonging to another guy called ...Jesus Wept...you couldnt make this up!!!
Asked Ulen to put up a notice, but havent seen any to date, but dont think the guys on the desk fully understood us.
Anyway...going to post the wallet when we get home.

read this post the other day, today i was working with some coppers from lancs and asked them if they knew him, they recocnised the name but didnt know him personally so left it at that. Try emailing his name @ lancashire.pnn.police.uk, i think every copper has their own e mail. I had to email someone from lancs police recently and that was how their emails were made up.

I know what you mean about carrying his warrent card while on holiday. Then I remembered my hubby always has his id card on him regardless of where we are!! Think its a habbit that they should have it on them at all times.

Miss Marple is alive and well ! Thank you all for your input on the case which has resulted in a positive ID. I am the fool who lost his wallet however to answer some questions the warrant card is part leather wallet which I use as a wallet and have done for 15 years ! Its been to Bansko on 6 occassions and returned home safely until now.
I'd like to thank you all for your humour, honesty and assistance.

Just to update everyone,
The real Michael Parkinson did step forward. Lancashire Police did forward on Mat's email, with a link to this site.
I spoke with Michael and confirmed a few details, and the wallet is making its way back to Lancashire as you read.
Can I thank all those people we asked on holidays if they knew 'Michael Parkinson' or if they were 'Michael Parkinson' for their many humourous responses. It really did make our lunchtimes!!!!
We asked one particular guy 3 times the same day if he was Michael Parkinson, as he looked similar to the photo on the drivers licence....The poor guy thought we were stalking him.
Anyway the case is now officially closed. Thanks for all your help!!!!
