Got a newsemail stating no more permission will be granted for further building work in Pamporovo as it is to be preserved as a national park. Just hope this is the case as I dont think the area could cope with much more.
Through a friend in Smoylan. He says the municipal authouritys will be granting no more planning permission for the Pamps area. Hope its true but who knows its Bulgaria we are talking about
2 years ago I was told that no more buildings would be erected at Studenets after the Grand Monastery project. There are at least 3 other apt blocks there now.
I sincerely hope that they don't over-build in Pamps but at least those other 3 buildings are not right on top of each other. You still get the feeling of space between projects especially on the road down from to Smolyan and hope it remains that way.
I know there are many people who love Borovets and although I was only there for a couple of days the close proximity of hotels, apartment buildings, the cafes, restuarants and bars makes it feel a bit like Blackpool on Snow.
Wow - ...

Wow - that's done it. I will now have all the avid Borovets lovers down on my neck but remember - its only my personal opinion
Just wonder if your friend is referring to the Perelik project which wont allow any building on the mountain, just ski pistes - the intention is to build in Smolyan, Stoykite, Shiroka Luka etc - hopefully this possibly also means no more building in Pamps!
The Mayor actually stated no further land will be regulated, this does not mean that land that has existing regulation can not be built on, there is a fair amount of land with building permission already, but i don't believe that it will be another Bansko
