Author : Steve (95.144.2.---) posts : 99 Date : 02-08-12 20:45 Hi
We booked our hotel with crystal ski just after christmas (Hotel Orlovets) for the week from 18th Feb - 25th Feb
only to be told last week that we could not stay at the Hotel Orlovets on the last night of our holiday Fri 24th as the hotel has allegedley overbooked and we will have to move out to the Hotel Perelik on the friday morning and if we do not agree to do this then they will have to cancel our holiday(when we booked there were thirteen rooms left) so if they all have to move out thats a lot of overbooking, as this happened to any one else ?
Hope to see you all on the slopes on sunday 19th weather permitting.
let me know if you have been bumped to
cheers
Steve

Their fault - not yours - milk it! |

Is there any posher hotels than the orlovets in pamps its self we have friends staying at the Murgavets and would want to spend time with them in the evenings.
They said we could stay at the hotel perelik all week if we wanted
we have been offered no rebate thay say the hotel perelik is all inclusive. but we will be on the slopes from 9.30 - 5.00 so will not go all the way back up to the hotel for lunch.
You would'nt buy a rolls royce from a garage and when you went to collect it they tried to give you a mini (sorry if you own a mini no dissrespect intended)

Author : Pamporovo Pete (84.51.185.---) posts : 13962 Date : 02-08-12 23:13 I personally would say the Mourgavets is better than the Perelik having stayed many times in both, but still not up to the standards of the Orlovetz.
The attitude these companies take just stinks as they do it time after time and basically tell you - take it or leave it! At the beginning of the season they purchase X number of rooms for the season - so how the hell can they 'overbook' them?
It's a total disgrace.

Pamp Pete,
It is the Bulgarian hoteliers at fault. Why do you always go after the tour operator?

Author : Pamporovo Pete (84.51.185.---) posts : 13962 Date : 02-09-12 00:25 Because the tour operator sells the holiday to the customers - that's why. The overbooking excuse has been used for years and everyone wants to say it's someone elses fault. If the tour companies offer the accomodation and they are not available then why are they selling them in the first place? This is not an isolated incident - it happens year after year and if I were in charge of a tour company then I would make dammed sure that the holidays and accommodations I am selling are 1OO% nailed on available. If not I would be sueing the arse of the hotel group as part of the terms and conditions of the agreement that I would have hammered out before I agreed to use their hotels.
If I buy a car and it goes wrong - I take it back to the person I gave my money to - not to the manufacturers.
I might also ask this question of you - why do you always defend the indefensible and always say it's got nothing to do with the tour operators when it clearly has?

If you want to change any details of your booking (such as changing to a different hotel or changing a name in your booking) or to cancel an optional extra you have booked, we will do our best to help but please note that changes that are more major changes, such as those that would lower the basic price of your holiday or that would otherwise result in your holiday ceasing to be a Package Holiday, will be treated by us as a different holiday (see 10.4(i)) and changes to the hotel or flight within 84 days of departure will also be treated by us as a different holiday (see 10.4(ii)). We charge an 'Amendment Fee' per person for each detail of the booking which we allow you to change without a cancellation. If you make the allowed change more than 84 days before departure, the fee will be £35 per change per person. If you make the allowed change within 84 days days of departure, the amendment fee will be £50 per change per person.
So - they charge YOU £50 per person if you want to change the accommodation - but do not pay you anything if THEY want to change it!
PRICELESS !!!!!!!

Author : Kevin (---.range86-141.btcentralplus.com) posts : 356 Date : 02-09-12 18:38 In my experience would never book a holiday again with Crystal.A few years ago after booking(and paying) 4X lift passes prior to holidays we got to the resort we were told we hadn't booked them and had to fork out for another 4, then when we got home we claimed the money back back after we obtained proof that we purchased them from crystal prior to our holidays. |

Author : daz (---.in-addr.btopenworld.com) posts : 124 Date : 02-10-12 10:54 We got bumped and I told them i was having non of it
They said the management of the hotel had made the cock up and that they had other guests arriving on the last day of our stay and that we would have to move to Perilec for the last night.
I pointed out to them that the people wanting to move in 24th were the ones with the problem, as I would already be in the hotel and that me and my mate would take some shifting
They then informed me that if we didnt agree to a move before the holiday began we would not be allowed to chech in 18th Feb.
I managed to get £30 compo per head and a move for the whole week to Snejanka for the whole week with free drinks at the hotel from 6 till midnight throughout our stay.
Its not a bad hotel, food ok but the drinks deal sealed it

Author : Steph (---.dsl.in-addr.zen.co.uk) posts : 58 Date : 02-10-12 16:14 Hey Steve,
This happened to my boyfriend's dad (ironically his name is Steve) in Bansko. He had to downgrade massively from a 4 Star hotel to a 3 star self catering apartment. He managed to get compensation after complaining to the rep but it really was all he thought about all holiday and really ruined it for him.
Me and my boyfriend tend to stay in apartments now, much less hassle and no annoying reps or tour operators involved!

Author : gary franklin (---.7-1.cable.virginmedia.com) posts : 32 Date : 02-10-12 20:50 Hi steve, stayed at the perlik 3 weeks ago, you do not go back to the hotel for food, you have your own restaurant on the slopes next to the 4 man lift, you can eat lunch 12.00 - 2.00 and afternoon tea 2.30-4.00 and dinner 6.30-10.00, all you can drink is free as in tea coffe hot chocolat and soft drinks, beer and wine free after 6.30 to 22.00
I found the perlik everything and more that I could have wanted from a hotel and have already looked into booking for net year.
The move to the perlik will save you at least £150.00 per person on food and drink, so would think long and hard before moving elsewhere. |
