I'm coming to Borovets soon and am having trouble finding a helmet locally as there aren't many specialist ski shops in my area. I don't want to buy on line without trying one on. What are the shops like in resort? Will there be much choice? Any idea of prices? Thanks |

Try eBay, things like helmets are very cheap in UK at the moment, to be honest the good makes are mostly really comfy and will fit if you measure your head above ears and buy that size. Or order online from a shop that will take returns, I have always bought online and had no trouble with Pro tec and now Giro woman specific helmets. Good luck. |

niki, the trouble is, i have a really big head... 60cm so i really need to try on. even a men's helmet in sport and ski today was too small

60 is more like an XL so try to get a low profile helmet, try a unisex then rather than blokes, hope you find one. |

well niki, i just bought a white helmet on ebay, it is unisex and adjustable, so fingers crossed. not sure what you mean by low profile.... will google! |

Hi Sophia
I bought my helmet 2 years ago in Borovets.
There are about 4 stores I tried that sold helmets and there was a very good selection. I bought mine in March so got it in the sale at a really good price, last year had a quick look and had some deals too.
There will be plenty of selection, but I would try to barter to try to get a better price.

i bought in borovets 2 year ago, good selection paid £35
recomend you take your ski goggles with you as they should fit in line with helmet around your forehead |

I wouldn't go buying a helmet on ebay or online, they are like boots you have to wear them for long periods. Go into a shop try it on then buy. Some helmets can be very different inside, I tried on at least 5 before it felt right. Good luck! |
