Hello, I'm the one to blame for:
1. everyone's user name became fransis..
2. that was my mistake, i'm the forum programmer... Anyway...the mistake that renamed everyone's accounts was forced me to delete all of the affected accounts, so...

Fransis is a user, decided to update his profile...and thanks to me - the profile update was updating not just current profile, but all registered accounts. Fortunately there was about 50 profiles affected at the time. Imagine they was 5000...or more... |

Indeed it is Glen on my avatar - that was intention!
I was rooting around in some boxes of very old stuff I stored here in the loft from years ago and to my delight found my collection of Warren Miller & Greg Stump VHS ski films - woo hoo!!! I absolutely loved these and used to watch them over and over. I had completely forgot I had them - what epic viewing!!! I was so in awe at the time of Glem Plake and also Scot Schmidt and Mike Hatrupp. What a find - I am very happy!! I wonder if they have been re-done on DVD now - the 'Blizzard of Aaaghs' was my ultimate fave and has to be one of the best films ever - cool soundtrack too. I am going to search t'internet and see if I can find DVD versions!!

Andie - the email option has been withdrawn as many people were being contacted with information that they didn't want to receive. A classic example was Amanda emailing posters trying to encourage them to visit her website.
PM option may well be added soon but email address are only available to the admin team for security reasons.

Hi Pete, and I am in full agreement with this - emails like that can be really bloody annoying.
I was just thinking that if you wanted to contact someone with info that they were asking for there is no way of doing it other than posting it on the forum. And then you run the risk of your post being deleted, and your hands smacked, for advertising
Please give my love to Angie and I hope you get your "adopted girl" home soon.

Is there not a way whereby each individual could only send a maximum of say 5 PMs per day, this would prevent abuse by those who wanted to send multiple pms for their own business promotion but would allow for individuals to send them. I am not a programmer so dont know the technicalities, but expect it may be possible in time. And of course anyone who sent unwanted abusive pms could be warned and if neccesary expelled.

Good idea Don, you could perhaps limit pms to poster's who have made a certain amount of post's before they are allowed to send pms to other forum members. |
