For those of you yet to book - the board spring MEET will be at Tamworth Snowdome on Saturday 3rd May meeting up at 12 noon.
Most are booked into Tamworth Central Premier Inn for the Saturday evening and the itinerary is as follows.....
Meet at Tamworth Snowdome at 12 noon (maybe we need to exchange mobile numbers - mine is 07880 710453)
Those who do not wish to ski/board can either watch or catch up on some shopping.
Early evening at your own leisure before meeting up at 8pm at the Beefeater next to the Premier Inn for a meal and some bevvies!
After that we'll decide what everyone wants to do. As I am over 100 miles away it has been difficult to arrange a Karaoke for the evening, but I'm sure we'll find somewhere close by to party the night away.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you again, and some for the first time

Dona, "Child friendly for drinking"....well that rules Wetherspoons out after 5 pm....just a short walk from Snowdome.
The bar at the Snowdome always seems to have kids in and around it, particularly the part that runs alongside the slop.
Note, you have to pay for parking at the Snowdome now.

I could always hide him under a table I suppose.
Does anyone know if you have to wear full ski gear at snowdome or will we be ok to just stick on a jacket.
Also can I use my own boots Sorry for all the q's

Dona, the "snow" at Tamworth is made by a differnt tech to MK or Leeds, it's not so much snow as crushed ice. You will get wet on your bum and the bottom of your legs, so salopets or waterproof trousers are best. DON'T wear JEANS. You will need gloves.
You can wear your own boots.

You obviously know I can't ski Ian and that I will spend time on my backside lol. Thanks for the tips will bring the works for me and the monster. Although am still hopeful they will let Logan ski on his own so I can just watch.

I am sooo disappointed I will not be there  I'll think of you whilst I'm in BG and will report back on my experiences at the orphanage.
Dona - foster Logan out for the afternoon to Uncle Pete. They can have races!! You can then sit there looking 'glam' with a glass of something, whilst others are occupied getting bruises and wet You can take the photos.

Apologies but Steve and myself can't make it as its so close to Sunny Beach (2 weeks after) we can't really afford it, need all the leva for hols and
Hope everyone has as good a time as we had a few years ago, think it was Burton on Trent! Had a brill time then with the dry ski centre and the ten pin bowling. Hope you will do another one later in the year.

For those who don't know Tamworth, there is a ten pin bowling ally (thats has a Bar and is Kids friendly) across the road from the Snowdome, and the parking is free, There is an underpass which lets you walk between the two, or, from the LadyBridge beefeater, a pathway (walk past the new appartments, not up on the main road) and pedestrian bridge over the river....Enjoy Ian

Thanks for the tips Ian .... gives us another option. Definitely a good tip about the parking will park there and walk over to snowdome so long as there are no dodgy restrictions.

Dona, 1 degree centigrade and zero wind chill makes it quite warm for running up and down a hill so I would recommend not many layers.........ie a base layer and your jacket ..........maybe less for the whirlwind

Thanks for that ....we only wear t-shirts and ski wear in BG so will aim for similar. Logan will prob just want a t shirt but me thinks he is gonna end up on his backside lots as he has seen they have jumps which he is desperate to try out. PP beware I am still hoping I will just have to prop up the bar and take lots of pics

We will be at the Snowdome in the morning because our youngest one attends the junior ski club which operates from 11am to 1pm. Unfortunately we are off to a birthday party in the afternoon but it would be good to say hi whilst we are there.

Dona, dont worry about Logan. I dont know how old he is but they have little ones zooming down the slope all the time. As long as he can control his speed he will be fine.

Thanks Cobra not too worried about him ......he is 7 and a great skier just far too confident for my liking. I think my problem is he is better than me and cos I know I can't do stuff it terrifies me watching him do it.....always seem to play catch up with him on the slopes lol. If there is a ski club running from 11-1 will we still be able to get on the slopes when we get there at 12?

Yes, they still operate recreational skiing & lessons alongside the kids ski club. One thing that is worth mentioning is that the slope will close at 1 o'clock for an hour over lunch whilst they maintain it. Then there is another ski session between 2pm and 5pm before it changes to togoganning and tubing for 2 or 3 hours in the evening. Thinking about it as a part of our membership we have a number of guest membership passes that we could hand out. It allows a ski session at member rates which could be useful. Allows more money to be spent on beer in the evening! I will try my very best to remember to bring them with us.

That would be fab am sure we will all appreciate cheaper rates....thanks a lot Cobra. So if we want to get in a full hour skiing need to be ready to go at 12. Think I will put that info in a new post for Pete not sure if he knows.
