What is actually happening is that this stupid woman 'Parkiebear', her equally moronic mate Pauline, and others, are driving some of us nuts with inane and pointless chat, which is in the main damn all to do with Bulgaria, but all about their uninteresting and empty lives.
The upshot of this, which the owners of these websites should note, is that most of the regular 'experts' have gone, and despite this time of year being peak season for enquires and especially first time posters, there are very few. Clearly genuine enquirers take one look at the site and all they can see is thread after thread of pointless drivel. Neither could anyone blame them for thinking that finding oneself on holiday with such stupid and ignorant people is the last thing on earth one would want!
Mike y of course is being wound up to some tune, but he's not the only one by far. By the way, this is not because the great SBP is on holiday. As a moderator he's NBG and as daft as they are.

Hi Daniel, go look see the garbage on the beach side. Yes, there's banter on here and risqué jokes, but not meaningless drivel about personal problems, day after day after day. Like a script of the Royle Family.
I'm a great fan of Bulgaria and it's people, but being associated with morons does them no favours. Mind you, enjoy it whilst you can. Don't know about the snow side, but the coastal resorts are rapidly going down the pan like they did in the middle 1990s when prices went up and up and the service just got worse and worse.
I'm no Mike y, but I know where he's coming from. However the political problems of Bulgaria are really damn all to do with us tourists, unless of course you've bought, in which case "Oh dearie, dearie me!!" I don't think his constant scaremongering about the crime, corruption, the Mafia etc, has any place on a holiday forum either.

Ok guys lets not get carried away with the personal insults and stuff. I have never really been active on the sunny site so I do not really want to get dragged into it.
I will say however after reading it this morning I tend to agree with the above the amount of "morning" "goodnight" postings are a tad ott and a few postings with just a smiley face or a cryptic statement? Most odd.
My opinion not that it is worth much is that forums create friends, therefore friends like to chat=postings that others may find pointless. The problem that this does cause is that it can be very off putting for new members to join in the banter as these postings seem exclusive. Where as perhaps a joke does not?
I am surprised at the amount of these kind of posts at what should be a very busy time of year on that forum, I could understand it if it was the middle of winter and the site like this one at the moment was dead.
I have said before that both these sites need updating and the inclusion of a chat room for both forums would I think reduce the need for the kind of postings that some may find pointless. But what I like about this forum and it happens on the sunny site is some good old banter and I would not want to see that disappear and have only questions on Skiing/boarding.
So conclusion? I think that perhaps people on both sides of the fence need to look at it in and adult manner and not resort to name calling. The people posting some of this stuff need to ask themselves do they have a point? Will this put people off? And people that it angers need to to argue the point in a constructive manner rather than shouting.

the funny thing is Mikey, the vast majority of people come on here because they are going on holiday to Bulgaria, (likewise the sunny side) and to be perfectly honest they dont really care about anything else than enjoying the benefits of their hard earned for a week or two weeks. And it would seem they keep going back year after year. Now as to what you are 'educating' people to, im not sure, but i dont think your one man crusade is going to stop the increasing numbers going every year, still keeps you off the streets i suppose, oh and just for you..

I ve been going to bulgaria for years, but all Ive seen on these sites is scaremongering and trying to put people of visiting, or personal attacks, I dont go to the resorts as I much prefer the villages and have many bulgarian friends the comments from some that only have a handfull of posts between them shows they just want to disrupt these forums and not give any useful info

Depends how you define disrupt. The originator of this thread (which has rather backfire on her), has the ambition to clock up 5000 posts on the beach side in the next week or so. As someone has posted -

As for Mikey, he's not wrong, and all on its own the tourist trade from the UK is in free fall, hence all the cancelled, altered and diverted flights. Golden Sands is mainly a German and Scandinavian resort now, and it will get worse as prices rise.

Only the most desperate ones and the ones which can't afford anything else will travel there.
Funny but it is not the case anymore of having enough money just to go to BG for skiing.
Recently-especially the last 2 seasons I have noticed that you and the rest of the LOVELY CLIQUE are all having uphill battle trying to cover up that actually BG is not cheap anymore.BG IS IN SOME CASES MORE EXPENSIVE THAT THE ALPS.
There is just one example Fraser:

Lift pass is 25 euros per dayCORRECT FRASER?
-this is as you know but dont want to admit it, above the average for quite alot of places in the Alps these days.
Let's not mention the amount of ski runs per euro ratio ,
the amount of queues -BIG FAT AND LONG ONES
the amount of closures-almost all the time not all of the lifts and runs opened.
the amount of problems-bars druging,beatings,loud music etc.
So here are some of the negatives your beloved Borovets where you are stuck for the moment is having.
If we have to mention them I dont think anybody knowing clearly what is going to have will want to book a trip to BG.
Ah-h
and the amount of snow -top to bottom
and the actual days of skiing during a season.
One thing for you matey:

oh mikey you should be a politician, dont bother with the truth, just read into something what YOU want to!, firstly, and i know this bugs you, a lot of people who go to Borovets/Bansko/Pamporovo can actually afford to go elsewhere, i wouldnt be so dimissive if i was you, plenty of wealthy people come to Borovets!, but for some reason, which you cant fathom, they actually LIKE the place, they like the people and they have a godd time, sorry, but youre out of touch.
The vast majority of people do not sit down with a calculator and work out the cost per km per lift per queue blah blah blah, they want a holiday where they are going to have a good time.
Now even you cant deny that every year more and more tourists are heading to the ski resorts, the numbers are up each year, and bad news mikey, and this is the first bit of 'advertising' ive done as you so politely put it, the bookings for next season are the BEST weve ever had, and that is FACT (you do like facts dont you?)
When was the last time you went to Borovets MIkey??? be honest let us know how in depth your knowledge is! i havent been there for oh.......three weeks i should think, the base work and infrastructure for the drainage/sewage/water etc is all done at the base station, the new four man on the top is nearly ready, and the new snow cannon pipe work is about finished, looks like progress to me!...... and in common with a lot of "English' yes i do like a or two, but then i find that i can satisfy that need just about everywhere in the world,,,,,funny that (ok not saudi but then i dont want to go there marky!!  )
Mikey value for money covers a lot of things you know (well maybe you dont) friends , good atmosphere, safety (despite what you say i find Bulgaria to be very safe) cheap food and drink (ducks below the parapet) and SNOW because despite what you say (gosh again) the cover has been good over the last few years, certainly compared to any other reorts of similar height, (as i know when some of my friends went to the 'Milky Way' last year and had to leave early due to poor coverage)
So why not live and let live Mikey, let those that want to go to BUlgaria go and have a good time, and then you can find another crusade!!

The reality is that fraser and a few others have property in Bulgaria and want to defend it at all costs.
The reality is that investors are turning away in their droves.
Mickey is correct. People with a greater budget will 99% of the time choose a resort outside of Bulgaria.
I have been a using bulgaria amoung other places for years. to cut a long story short, had a bad experience in bansko 2 years ago. Gave a report when i came back severley criticising the place and was corrected by Fraser and a few of the property/investors about the accuracy of my report.
If you hang aroung here long enough you will get to know whos who and who hve a conflict of interests.
Its like a convention of the Mother Teresa, and the property portfolio gang.
