Can anyone advise which airlines are flying into Plovdiv this season. I have been advised by Balkan that they are all going into Sofia??

I am in the East Midlands so either Bham, Manchester, Luton, Heathrow would be good? trying to get to Pamps week of 27th Dec.

Very constructive post Stephan! Welcome to the site. Not sure who if any are flying there this year due to the renovation of the airport. Sofia is 2.5 to 3 hours if you rent a car which we are doing the week before. Will be there when you get there Simonski. Wink

There you go! Some airlines had pulled the plug but if you can get there you're only an hour or so away.

Thanks aaron. I was in Bulgaria last week with car and enjoyed!! the drive from Sofia to Pamps (very entertaining and much better than any Sega Rally game!!) I am hoping to be in Pamps over the New year as we have got an apartment there and were out buying furniture etc last week so was trying Plov for convenience. Thanks to others I will try First Choice and if not Sofia it is!!

P.S. Stephan, mainly convenience and to save the transfer!!!

And many cheap flights into Dublin from Brum. Whaere are you from Simonski? We are from Hinckley so these are our local airports too. Where did you purchase in Pamporovo?

Aaron
I am near Loughborough and my wife is from Bulkington so know Hinckley quite well. We have purchased in Bldg 1 of the Grand Monastery so after the furniture has gone in we are looking forwards to the New Year with plenty of drinks, hopefully some snow and some family also renting out there to join us!

Simon, we've got a place in building 4. You will love the place, it looks absolutely amazing. We stopped there for the first time last year and can't wait to go back.

Thanks helen.
Managed to book flights from Gatwick to Plovdiv on 27th Dec so Pamps for the new Year! Booked via First Choice but flights are Thomsonfly.
Apparently Balkan told me they have 'pulled' a lot of the flights and those that are left are all going into Sofia (suspect due to building works at plov airport??) Having said that given the usual fog at Sofia everyone will probably end up at Plovdiv anyway!!

Cheers

A beer sounds a good plan to bring in the festivities!!. I passed the Castle a few times the other week and next door really to the Monastery and was the other development I was looking at.

You wont miss us as my wife will be the one with an 8 month old in a bright pink buggy testing all the bars around mid station with my brothers wife whilst we are skiing!!

Thomson must be flying to Plovdiv. Just checked my booking details with BAlkan Holidays online and my flight details have changed from BG to THOM.
