Road Russe- Sofia- Bansko

How is the road from Sofia to Bansko now after this lately snowfalls? There are any closed roads or with problem?

Along this road yesterday - 0600 - believe it had been very icy during night - but gritters out and easily drivable as our driver proved by deciding to do a Stirling Moss Neutral Overtook on snow covered outside lane at 150 k's. Maniac.

On a trip two days ago, saw a van in a ditch, two cars facing the wrong way after spinning on a carriageway, a Pajaro on its roof after leaving the road... all in the space of a couple of km... maniacs or just mindless idiots ??

Another one: what GPS software have the most detailed map of Bulgaria?
I'll come to Bansko by car from Bucharest. 550 km.
In Romania are hard condition to drive because of snow in the last 48 hours.
How is in Bulgaria from Ruse to Bansko ?

I'd recommend `Tom Tom' latest edition of Eastern Europe. Bit of a thaw now and roads clearing well. You should be ok...
