Shopping Mall - Bansko

Does anyone know if work to build the shopping mall in Bansko has actually started yet? Originally when the announcemeny was made the mall would be complete by June 2008. I am all too well aware about delays to projects but wondered if anyone new anymore?

I heard it was to built on the spare bit of land (probably the only bit of land that is left) at teh side of the Fortuna/friendly bar.

Also does anyone know (and dont laugh) if the municipality have a plan for when roads/paths will be ...

Cheers

The shopping mall is being built on the empty land between the ice rink and the happy end.

It will be completed in a couple of years.

The roads will be the last to be completed. As if they lay them now they will be destroyed by all the lorries,

FV
where is this this complex going - has that been decided yet? Just wondering what bit of land is left?

Cheers Snowy Norman - i was given wrong info then. Was there in Jan & Feb and was told that it was going opposite the Kempinski where the huts are - down to the Fortuna.

I agree roads may get damaged, but the paths are a nightmare. My 4 year old daughter was walking on the path past the fortuna on the opposite side of the road and just as we got to the traffic lights she tripped ...

I agree roads may get damaged, but the paths are a nightmare. My 4 year old daughter was walking on the path past the fortuna on the opposite side of the road and just as we got to the traffic lights she tripped and actually fell over the side of path down a 3 foot drop into some rubble. Thanksfully she wasn't hurt but you cant help but think that tidying these things up would at least make it look like an effort was being made to get people to return.

I'd question why a rural village for winter sports needs a football stadium, but the mall is correct - it'll go just down from the gondola and they have already started the groundworks. It'll have a supermarket in it for all the apartments and all of the space has already been leased. The top few floors will be apartments, so I wouldn't expect too much mall space - this may change given the oversupply of apartments

re: Shopping Mall - Bansko

there was a bit of land next to the friendly bar when we was out their in March. No sign of building work but usually if its shops and bars the builders can soon get them up, appaertments ect tend to take for ever.
