Booked a week in Pamps for New year and want to buy my wife ski boots as she always has problems with the rental ones. Has anyone got any advice / prices on buying ski boots. She's an intermediate skier. Thanks!

re: Ski boots
Hey Dave,
As per previous posts, always go to a good, established boot shop then if you have any problems after buying the boots you can get them adjusted with no problem. For this reason i personally would always buy in your home country -- not on holiday even if they seem cheaper abroad. Hey Dave,

For this reason i personally would always buy in your home country -- not on holiday even if they seem cheaper abroad. Allow atleast 2/3 hours on the day to try on all the different makes because they all differ, dont just go for the red ones 'because i like the colour' ! This time of year i would try and get to the shop on a week day if possible 'cos weekends will be very busy. You should expect to pay approx £200- £250 for a good pair of intermediate boots. I personally go for the heat formed insoles aswell -- i think they make a difference but others may disagree. We got our boots from EB at MK snowdome earlier this year. I would recommend them but dont know where you are located. If you are cheeky enough you coulkd always spend the time in the shop, decide on a definite make/style then go home and order them cheaper off tinternet, but as already mentioned you are then restricted on any follow up needed. While I did advise on a previous post if you have problem feet it is as well to get boots fitted it is not always the case.i personally bought my boots in Borovets in the shop next to the White Magic quite a few years ago and got a really good deal on skis and boots. They spent a long time with me choosing my boots and i have never had a problem with them even though they are now over five years old and have skiid at least twice a year in them since then. I may get some new ones this year ...

I may get some new ones this year seing as how my mate snowplough has but that will only be keeping up with the Jones's as they say.Just to make sure his new boots and skis dont give him the edge.
