Can anyone post a picture or give me a link to show what the Wall looks like from the top? The pictures show it from the bottom and don't show how steep it really is. Thanks
Hi RG, I went up to the Snezhanka Tower from Smolyan Lakes side today to take some photos and stood at the top of The Wall. Take it from me it is steep - very b....y steep. You can't get any idea what it is like when you look at it from the bottom - it is awesome. We then came back down the red run to the Mid Station.
Oh, btw, what I didn't mention was that I was off-roading with a friend. We had been right up to the top of Perelik first, round to Mougla and then up to the Tower. ...

Anyway, I haven't had a chance to look at my photos yet but if there are any good ones I will let you know.
Skiing it for the first time is quite a moment. Once you push off from the top and you know there is no turning back. In fact it is so steep that when you start you cannot actually see the slope.
But once you are into it, as long as you trust your ability and obey the basic rules of edging then it's not that bad. Most people come a cropper because they fail to keep to the basic rules. Weight on the uphill edge of the bottom ski, and face down the mountain. Fear takes over and logic takes ...

But when you do get down for the first time the buzz you get is just brilliant - well it was for me anyway.
Still think there should be a kiosk at the bottom selling t-shirts that say - I Skied The Wall And Survived!
My Stevie skied it backwards aged 6!
but then I don't think he intended to. He went back the next day determined to conquer it and did it no probs.
It is quite steep though!
