hey guys,

i'm off to bansko on the 20th for a week. I was just wondering what lift price passes are for 7 days, and also wether it is worth bringing my powder sticks with me - snow sounds a bit hit and miss at the moment, not quite justifying 130mm under foot!

also any tips on places to go and chill with a beer and build a decent sized kicker? any pow stashes i should know about/discounts on lift passes?

any help would be excellente,

peace

Hi BennyC (my brother perhaps ??)
6 day at the gondola, 283lv... mail me and i could save you some money...
130mm underfoot.... not with the conditions at the moment though im cutting it on 112mm... On piste is as good as i've seen it here, cutting up a little in places at the end of the day but still brilliant. Pistes very quiet... Off piste is hard pack, and what soft there is, is very heavy/lumpy... As for powder stashes, we are off down to Dobriniste on Friday, areas down there catch it, so will report before you come out. We are hopeful of some late snow, on the existing base it would be awesome...
Most bars are reasonable, Irish, Friendly, lion etc...
Millionaires skiing at the mo, very sunny, brilliant blue skies, quiet, and good cover on all runs... Makes you feel like you don't want to go home... O, i don't have to, i live here... hehehehe

sounds good, i'll leave the pontoons at home in that case and concentrate on my park skiing a bit. how is the park up there? any decent tree skiing at the moment at al?

looking forward to it, done a whistler and a chamonix season recently and this is first time out on the planks in just under a year, can't wait!

thanks for the quick reply, i will message you about that discount Cool

Hi Clare..
We have just been informed that as we purchase as if we were tour companies, and the non-Balkan companies end this week we will not be able to pre-book and qualify for a discount Mad until next season... Seems ludicrious that the likes of Thompson, Crystal etc are ending before Easter...
So basically we cannot help... If i find out anything to the contrary, i'll be right back Wink

Hi Clare, deffo bring your sterling here, change at Alpha bank near the square, the best day rate... On the up at the moment, 2.15 or more...
Snow conditions are worsening quickly due to the very high temps, around 20 degrees in town yesterday. There is a lot of snow on the mountain, especially at the top so it will take a while to disappear, and today temps are lower and it is overcast... Ski road is still complete to the town, but getting to be just a path at the bottom, fairly typical spring conditions. Best to get up early to enjoy it the most Razz
Keep an eye on the cams, they will give you a better idea..
