Its our families first time skiing in Bulgaria this feb, I would like to ask if anyone has veiws on hiring ski equipment at the resort or book it at home. also which ski hire shop is the best,

What resort?
If you are going on a package you'll usually get a good deal on hire/lessons/lift pass by booking now, but depends on where you are going.

Hi Kerry, in my experience best to book with tour operator before you go for best "all inclusive" value.
You can get better quality / value if you search around.
Borosport are the major provider in resort, some would say a little asking in terms of quality but as complete beginners I'm not sure this is really too much of an issue. (I leave myself open for criticism here)
IMO the whole ski school experience and camaraderie gained, is fantastic and the first family ski trip amazing. Its incredible to go through the learning experience together with your kids.
The generally done thing here is to spend all day with instructor (and family) and have a ball.

Just saw Borovets in the title! Doh
Same applies though, may be cheaper booking everything through your tour op, otherwise go with Hunters in resort, although contact them beforehand via this site. |

I would agree with all of the above but it could be slightly different if you are staying in the Samokov hotel |
