Author : aweis (109.65.195.---) posts : 12 Date : 02-05-12 23:46 Hi - I am planing on booking my ski vacation to go to Borovets and I have a few questions:
1) Are the ski lifts all open these days?
2) Are all the ski lifts covered by the same ski pass? or is it zoned?
3) Is the Yanakiev Hotel a good choice for a family? Is the indoor-pool open?
Thanks much for your help!!! |

2. All lifts in the resort of Borovets are covered by the one pass but you will need another pass for night skiing |

Mind you if that is the case, it's likely to be people using a tour operator who pull that one and will pay the penalty. |

Author : dbut (31.72.208.---) posts : 580 Date : 02-06-12 20:08 They have made it so the pass only works on certain lifts. The pass will get you up the gondola but only work on the button at the top not the 4 man.

Author : Steve (---.15-1.cable.virginmedia.com) posts : 99 Date : 02-06-12 20:59 Dbut is right but it's the same price to buy a ski pack that has ski school ski hire and lift pass that covers all lifts and days but no night skiing. Just don't get a beginners pass they never check a boro sports when they put you in school anyway

Author : pepperpots (---.proxy.aol.com) posts : 11 Date : 02-07-12 11:32 We've booked the learn to ski pack for last 6 years and until this trip the lift pass gave access to all lifts. This year we had to upgrade at a cost of 76lev each in resort so that could use the yastrabets lift and the 4 man chair infront of the Rila. You can ski everywhere on the restricted pass but it does mean extra pushing.
As we've been before we didn't read the small print when booking the ski pack.
Would recommend anyone going out to change before they go as much cheaper and less hassle.
They say it's to keep inexperienced skiers off the more difficult runs!
Still good value and great skiing. |

Author : EMJAY (---.hiway.co.uk) posts : 288 Date : 02-07-12 12:53 I'm sorry but I still don't get it. I understand the reasons why they might introduce something like this and there are plenty of people who take a learn to ski package from a tour operator to save a little but with nursery slopes on the top of the gondola and on top of the Rila (left hand lift next to the black) you can ski almost everything from from those two points. |

Author : Kas&Bobby (46.254.128.---) posts : 1057 Date : 02-08-12 18:48 Confused....no drag on Marky 2 - it's a 4 man....and no they can't which is a problem as the beginners do this loop normally by end part of the week and normally get the 4 man up to the top and then ski across the to the Suhar (not down marky 2 or 1) to avoid the double drag on Marky 1... Now they can't do that on a beginners pack... |

Author : madcaine9 (---.15-3.cable.virginmedia.com) posts : 4 Date : 02-08-12 18:49 If beginners lift pass doesnt cover the 4 man lift in front of rila this means that learners cant ski the blue run at the top or the green run that starts from there. This seems very unfair to beginners. |

Author : greenfrogfrolics (2.27.142.---) posts : 227 Date : 02-08-12 21:29 It's the Sitnyakovo 4-man chairlift which you use to get to the blue and green you are talking about. It's sort of across and behind the Rila drag lift and Rila 4-man chair, and at the base of the Rila black run.
Using the Sitnyakovo lift you can still get to the Martinovi Baracki blue (and red) runs on the Rila side. |

Author : benlaimwolf (---.hari.cable.virginmedia.co) posts : 16 Date : 02-08-12 22:54 I saw this thread and panicked!
I phoned Inghams today, and like stated here, the beginner ski saver has restricted lift passes. The Ski saver is unrestricted.
I'm a complete beginner and I am simply doing the Ski saver. I'm sure I will be fine. |
