Hey, when out there last year saw what was told was the foundations going down for the new gonderla that will connect samakov to boro, anyone seen the progress?? any pics??

That is excellent news, If it is true it will do wonders for the samokov tourist industry but not a lot for the boro lift queues

its to dupe people into buying apartments there. They are failing and hence the reason why the have stopped.

In late march i saw the bottom gondola station being worked on and helis taking posts up but no idea if anything has happened since then.
They did say that it would be ready next year but a bulgarian year is quite a lot longer than a british year.

i had heard rumours of it being ready for the season but realistically i wasnt actually expecting it to be! would be amazing if it was tho as im staying in samakov for a month rather than in resort!

Yeah im staying in madjare or madzhare as ive heard it been called for the full season and had my fingers crossed the bella iskar lift would be in as promised but hay it wouldnt be bulgaria if it all ran smooth and on time

we were out there in july and it has progressed no further than march and that was the same for bela iskra there were properties there due to be finished 2007 still not sold.
Best suggestion if you want to go to boro or buy still best option in boro itself where facilities alreadyy there.

I have a house in Majhare and seen the lift station in July, your right a bulgarian year is like two Uk years!!
However, Samokov lift goes to Beli Iskar and the Beli Iska goes straight up to the top. Yippee....

there are not lifts going from Samokov to Beli Iskar and from there to the top.Even worse there are not any planned for any future.
Do you mean the plans for lift from Beli iskar to Sokolets and maybe further up?
Which one in Madjare is yours?Do I know you?

I was hoping for the belar iskar upto the banderata as this would get me to the yastrebetz runs a nice little warm up before my lessons.
Oh well il have to buy a lada i guess.

The new gondola, is planned to have a 'middle station' above Beli Iskar in the Sokolets area, this middle station is due to be accessed by a chair lift from BeliIskar. The gondola will then continue and finish up around the top of Markdjuk 1 poma lift, which will probably disappear, being superseeded by the new chair lift that is almost finished. But not quite yet!!

Fraser this talk about lifts in Borovets is a bit premature.
Let hope in portions.
First the first lift at Markudjik to be finish-for this season.Then after the season with the help of God for the rest
