Please may I ask whats a good make,and how much is a good one.

one that fits is the most important thing.i believe in new as you dont know the history of it.we wear scott they are good.

Pro tec ones fit me well.

We kitted ourselves out with helmets from Lidl - about 12 notes for the adult ones. I can testify that they hold the appropriate standards and I took a couple of whacks on the head (took a whack off a sharp bit of a chairlift and landed on my head whilst trying to perfect my off piste technique!) without any adverse effects.

Are ski helmets the same as riding and bike helmets, if you have an accident in them should they then be replaced?

Sam, would be adviseable but depends on the severity and how fast you were travelling. I would say Yes to change it (I'm a qualified Motorcycle training instructor and also work for the ambulance sevice) but there are different things to consider. If you actually land on your head or bang it off something hard then i would change it but if just snow then maybe not. Ski helmets are light therefore by just dropping them you are unlikely to damage the polystyrene that is inside unless it's ...

Thanks thats kind of what i thought. suppose its a judgement call if you bang your head!!
