hi we were there in feb and were with the samokov ski school/hire (situated under the samokov hotel) which is only about a five min walk from the rila. we left the skis/boots there and collected them each morning. we're going again in Feb and are staying at the Rila so would presume it will be the same this year. Cant remember about the currency exchange, but am sure someone will know.

Hi been to Borovets 6 times, the ski depot depends on which company you are with, generally with the Rila the depot is either in the hotel or opposite, but one or two did have to walk to the gondola depot, which is only a few minutes walk and easy if you are going up on the gondola, most depots prefer you to return the equipment each night, you can arrange to keep it with you if you are night skiing but they prefer it to be returned each evening before 5pm, will be in the Flora from 27th ...

Have fun
I always found the best exchange rates are at the bank near the gondola. You just go down the main road and when you see the gondola in front of you turn left about a hundred yards up the street you will see the bank on your left. Yeah and Glynis is right always take sterling and make sure it is in near mint condition with no rips tears or writing on it. If you go into your bank they will sort it out for you. Have fun
Hey,
I'm looking to go to Borovets for 4 night in February. We are booking flights and hotel seperately and can't seem to find anywhere to hire skis, boots and poles apart from websites that say they can offer you them if you book your hotel through them.
any suggestions for independant places to hire equipment from?
Hi I am going to Borovets in a couple of weeks but I left booking our ski packages to the last minute as a result I can't book through my tour operator. The price would have been 150 for hire, lessons and pass. Can I book it when I get there or will it be a lot more expensive then this?
