Just a thought, but would anybody like to share a van and take furniture to Bansko, or Sofia. Has i agree with peoples comments these furniture packages are a rip off. So anybody three people split three ways get in touch. I live in London, but anywhere in the uk i have a licence. Anyway its worth a thought.

Steve,
I'd be up for it, but I would need to see my studio finished first in order to check out exactly what I needed. Its supposed to be finished October, but, well, they dont't say which October. When were you thinkin of going over?

Hi Steve,
We may be interested if we could deliver to Pamporovo area, also, we live in North East England. We've booked flights for end of July for a week and thought of taking airbeds to use untill we get sorted with beds. Our appartments were due to be finished end of March but they are saying May/June. Our kitchens are fitted in the deal, they have sent us prices for furniture but we are thinking of getting our own as the prices are too high.
We have 2 studios to furnish next door to each other. We are in no rush to furnish so may be able to arrange something later in the year if all goes well.

This maybe cheeky BUT don't forget, if there's a few spare inches on the van, I can fill it with things for the orphanage.

When we furnished our property we went to Smolyan and there are several shops there that will deliver on the same day or the next day - basically they only sell what is in the store.
Could be worth a look

Helen,
Thats great news, thanks we'll have a look in July and see what we can get. I imagine they will be cheaper than the furniture packs aswell.
Did any of them speak English?, we have learnt basic Bulgarian so may be able to get understood with help of a phrase book.
Thanks

AA - there is a good furniture shop at the beginning of Bulgaria Blvd, a TechnoMarket outlet and several other good shops. Getting stuff delivered from Smolyan is so much easier than from Plovdiv as we have done both.

Some spoke English - this was some time ago though and may have changed. Last time I was in Smolyan I heard a lot more English than in the past. Take the phrase book and give it a go - you never know you might surprise yourself.
I dont know much about the furniture packs, but would imagine Smolyan to be cheaper. There are some stores where you can order items, that take a few weeks as well (forgot to mention that last time). It all depends what they have in stock and what it is you are looking for.
If not there are also many stores in Plovdiv that supply furniture, and the delivery costs are not exactly expensive !
Good luck and enjoy yourself in July

Thanks very much for the info, we are looking forward to July and exploring buying furniture. We feel much happier knowing Smolyan has these shops we can go to.
Can't wait !!!
