The Gondola and the Yastrebets expressway can be very dangerous in high winds and in the case of the Gondola if the wind is blowing in a certain direction, the cabs are in danger of hitting the pylons (or so they say). The problem with the Marky 3 drag is that it is close to an area called 'The Avalanche' and I understand that the authorities are concerned that some people may go off piste there and die. I think it was the year before last that a very experienced and well known local skier was killed out there. It is a very danagerous area and he wasn't the 1st victim. |
