Bansko 4th/5 March

Booked Ryanair flight from Birmingham on 4th (lands just after midnight at 00:20)-1 person. Potentially looking to share transfer one way to bansko. Will be returning by public bus. Don't know if this might fit with anything Steve or Wendy do. Ken.

re:Bansko 4th/5 March

Do you know how long a public bus takes and the time it starts at?

You could get another day or half day skiing in for the sake of saving a few pennies seems a bold move.

re:Bansko 4th/5 March

Bus takes between 2 -3 hours, but since I have been to Bansko many times (summer and winter) I know my way around and half a days skiing not important, given have to be back at airport by just after 3pm on the 9th.

re:Bansko 4th/5 March

Do public buses really do it in 2-3hours?

A non stop private transfer is around 2 hours.

re:Bansko 4th/5 March

see http://bansko.org/bansko_bus_schedule

average cost of bus ticket 13 lev and takes about 2.5 hours, plus probably another 4.8 lv to get across Sofia. Yes a private transfer or shuttle bus is quicker but when you dont have to rush why would? private transfers cost over 100lv.
The bus to sofia only stops in two places anyway, and try to reduce my carbon footprint where I can.

Not sure where the 100lv price is coming from if your looking at public transport buses + given a private Tfr takes a good 2hours how on earth can a local stopping bus take barely any more time + the Sofia to Airport travel time too.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but it doesn't sound the best cost nor time saving to use the local bus state owned setup v the alternative which is multiples quicker plus costs the same? What am I missing?

re:Bansko 4th/5 March

Realise I had crossed wires. I had assumed you were asking why I wasn't taking a private transfer back and 100 Lv related to that. Bansko Blog though is only 13 euro if more than 4 people on booking. I had looked at them for getting to bankso, and though goo d book online, and enquiry with Bansko Blog suggested that that I would not get a shuttle transfer from Sofia at 00:40 am.
