Bansko March21st

Hi everyone

This will be my 7th time to Bansko and this year I am travelling with three ski virgins ....

I missed out coming over last year and was just wondering what the Gondola queues have been like this year

I have purposely decided on late in the season in the hope that it will be fairly quiet

The snow looks good at the moment .... just hope it continues to last for the next 4/5 weeks

Anything else I should know would be great too ...... any good bars/restaurants ...

Thanks in advance

re:Bansko March21st

We will be there 14/3-21/3 cannot wait had a years break from snow.

I'm always up at 8am gondela but expect to be much later this time with 2 young kids so might be 10:30am start which will be fine. This time of year has never been busy which is good for us Wink.

Looking forward to the good exchange rate local beers local food spas skiing and regardless of weather just totally chilling out with family.

I'm sure you've tried liver?

Queuing will not be an issue outside of the weekend possibly, snow is good at the moment with big cover, and more forecast tonight and again Tuesday... Bars wise, still the old favourites, nothing really new apart from Sunny's in the new 'La Passage' opposite the Kempinski... a new loghouse on the ski road on the site of the wigwam maybe worth a visit as its local, try a steak in Lazur steak house on Glazne St, good reports this season... it has been really busy with Brits over half term, ...

Hi Steve

Thank you very much for the heads up .. it's well appreciated

There was another little 'secret bar' that we visited 3/4 of the way down the ski road on the left ... is that still there?

The 'Cave' (Peshterite) i think you mean, with the garden just by the bridge on the ski road...... my favourite spot.. jugs of hot rakia with honey, to wash down the kebabche and kofte, lutinitsa and chips with white cheese.... food of the gods and for an unbelievable price Very Happy
