Best accommodation in Borovets

My family and I have just returned from a week in Borovets and whilst the conditions didn't paint the Borovets slopes in a good light we are considering giving the resort another chance to impress us next year. Question is where should we stay? We stayed in the Samokov but found the accommodation, staff and food quite depressing. We are happy to consider either a hotel or just nicely equipped apartments. We would wasn't two bedrooms, decent shower, clean and well maintained rooms and ideally opportunity to use a spa and swimming pool. If ai hotel then please some half decent food. So, why are we considering going back to Borovets you may well ask? Simple, the staff and loyal customers and now friends of Bobby's Bar, the patient and invaluable private snowboard tuition we found, price/value for money, great sledging and resort friendliness. So, please let's is have your suggestions on accommodation for February half term 2015. Thanks

Hi Sam

I hear the Fiesta Winter Palace has lovely rooms. Not stayed there though. Really good points re the resort and definitely bobbys bar for a great place to go and make friends.

re:Best accommodation in Borovets

Sam, you should have asked, you and Ian could have had a look round the place we stayed in in the Flora. Like Duncan we are looking to go back to a self catering apartment in the Flora in 2015. There are others though that might suit and you could have a look at booking.com
Maybe bump into you on Sat

We stayed at the Samokov the last week in Jan but ate out every night as the kids didn't like the food their much

We're looking to stay at the Flora next year as everyone we spoke too said it was great and the location is perfect.

And of course you could try Balkan-Pms http://www.borovets-pms.com/

I really enjoyed my stay in the IGLIKA, just behind the Rila hotel. I'd suggest b&b rather than 1/2 board. They have a few chalets too so you can also use the hotel facilities

re:Best accommodation in Borovets

Hi Sam,

we have always stayed in the Royal Plaza, right by the slopes, between the Rila and the Samakov hotels.

we used the main pool in the hotels next door and had a good choice of spa treatments nearby, pretty much options in every larger hotel.

Royal Plaza is definitely in a league of its own.

here is a link to their web page:

talk to Rumen the office manager.
