Hey people, im going to boro with my girlfriend in like a week and im just wondering how much money i will need?and can anyone recomend things to do, places to see etc..
finaly does anyone know whats the best way to get to sofia for the day?

depens on what you have bought. HB? Then you should need 60 Levs a day (quick lunch and some drinks in the evening) and some additional money for excoursions.
What to do in Borovets? SKIING! instead of skiing you can go swimming (hotel RILA), go for sauna ( RILA and SAMOKOV, 6 levs an hour, have a trip to the Rila Monastry and to Sofia. Sofia is 70 km from Borovets and you will need a car or taxi. The current price is 45 € one way, so try to strike a deal and offer 120 € for the ...

You can go by bus as well but it will take you a longer time and the Samokov busses stop at bus station south in Sofia. From there you can go by tube. There are mini busses ( every 30 minutes) from Borovets to Samokov, price is 1,50 Levs.

Hairy Dave (AKA lou) - make sure you treat your girlfriend to lots of spa treatments. massages are a must when skiing you know!There's also horse riding in Borovets

Hi Hairy DaveIf you are going on a package deal then you can go to Sofia on your travel day. All the tour operators offer this/ They will take you on the bus to Sofia in the morning, you eat a nice pizza and then they take you on a tour. This is really cheap and a good to fill your last day. They then take you to the airport in time for your flight.
If you get into a ski school with a good group (I haven't found a bad group yet) then you will want to ski every day. H ;o)

Sorry Roland,but for serious swimming go better to Olimp hotel 3 lev a hour.
And Sauna is prefered the Ela with 6 lev full day or as long as you want.

we are currently in borrovets the best place for food is definately the green king opposite the gondola station authentic bulgarian food served hot
very cheap prices and at the moment 20% off the bill

I don't mind paying for quality. However if prices have risen in line with other resorts with better quality skiing, then you obviously look to where you can get good quality skiing with the appropriate budget for the evenings.
I don't mind being ripped off, I do mind when I know I am being ripped off. It sounds like this is the last year we will go to Borovets having been for the past 3 years. We usually take a party of 10 so the operators need to take note to fill our places for next ...

I was in Sunny Beach last year & they seem to be trying the same trick of overpricing.If it continues that way, all the fancy big hotels will be half empty and people will return to spain and their better/more established tourist facilities.I like Bulgaria(my wife is from there!) but too many price increases will push the tourists away.re: Borovets, watch your prices
It is much crazier in Borovez and may be in Pamporovo as in Sunny Beach.
May be in Albena.
Btu I heard this year to a pint for 4 lev is cheaper as in the pub around the corner.
The beer in the super markets straight in Borovez is over 1,20 lev, the same I payed in my hotel.
The Cab drivers tried to charge my 20 lev to go to Samokov, so start walking, after 3 km a car stops and ask where I go for and I told them to Samokov they take me with them and bring me to Samokov, free of charge ...

So think about may be a year without bulgarai and so fantasticx country, and I feel the resort has no big number os tourist as I've seen in other year but so fantastic snow.
And they have often two menus ones for you and ones for the other ones, me too....
