Borovets opening.

Borosport have announced the official opening will be on the 13th December and that the lift pass prices will be the same as last year.
They also say the management of Borosport hopes to open the ski area earlier - at the end of this month or in early December, if conditions are OK.
We could be skiing in a couple of weeks. Very Happy Skiing

Hi Gerry

We like your positivity but Bobby has had lots of meetings as we have been in Borovets for the last month and are living up here now getting ready for the season - everyone is pretty confident it won't be opened early...

I will say though that numbers are up on last year (about 4%) , despite the withdrawal of the Russian market from the resort and long range forecasts are good.

We have been walking most evenings and it's now good to see all the night lights being put on ...

We have been walking most evenings and it's now good to see all the night lights being put on the Rotata slope ready for the inclusion of night skiing Smile

re:Borovets opening.

Hi Karen,
I agree with you about the night skiing, I think it is going to be really popular, more slopes to ski and an easy way down from the Rila 4 man chair for less experienced skiers and it is something the other resorts don't have.
From the forecasts I have seen the night temperatures look to be below zero, -6 C, for the end of the month and beginning of December so looking forward to seeing all those new cannons running.

re:Borovets opening.

Can you guys confirm if all the new work re the cannons is complete? They must have built a new reservoir, if so where did they put it?

re:Borovets opening.

Hi Emjay,

Yes, everything is complete. They haven't built a new reservoir as for this season they are using the existing one at Yastrebets. Next season they are building one at Olimp hotel ( just above Rotata at the end of Georges run).

re:Borovets opening.

Hi Mark, they put in some pretty big pipes from the Yastrebets reservoir over to the Rila side a few years ago, before that when they ran the cannons the hotels had really low pressur or even no water.
Looking forward to seeing the new cannons running, not long to go now.

re:Borovets opening.

Really getting excited for the coming season considering it did not look as if I would be able to make it out there this year.

S.P. Very Happy
