Conditions

Obviously the snow that fell in the end wasn't nearly enough, does anyone have any updates on resort conditions? Im going to Pamporovo in a couple of weeks and am considering changing. Obviously it needs to be below -4 to get cannons on and that doesn't look like happening anytime soon on the lone range forecasts

re:Conditions

It is still early, Bulgaria historically is not snow sure for Christmas (as is nowhere really), the temps are a little up on the average, but not disastrously, below freezing temps being seen at night... snow cannons will produce a lot of snow in a relatively short time, and we are still seeing more natural snow at higher levels... fingers crossed we should be ok, its amazing what a difference a day makes Wink

re:Conditions

Cheers Steve, its about the 15th time I've been skiing in Bulgaria and it seems to be the same every year Smile Thinking about changing to Bansko as the snow coverage looks a little better and obviously higher altitude..

re:Conditions

Borovets put on their 'My Borovets' facebook page, well in bulgarian and through the wonders of google translate basically said it is highly unlikely that the season will be opening yet due to weather conditions beyond their control.

re:Conditions

Well, not condemning those fantastic people at 'snow forecast'.......................... but cannons were running last night and this morning, below freezing in our village so even colder in Bansko. I could see the cannon indicator lights as i went to bed last night, mountain looked like a Christmas tree Very Happy but no, 'snow forecast' are right Mad

re:Conditions

I m here now at Borovets first winter, although was here March 2014. As Steve C says, snow cannons running and gondolas also, Borovets sport people on slopes and been told there will be night ski ing tonight. I don't mind much cause I can't do it anyway but I hope it works for partner and all ski fans and I will write again with progress as here until 19th.
