The problem is, like last year, the weather across Europe is still in a predominantly Westerly flow with tropical maritime air coming across from the Atlantic. There simply isn't enough cold pooling in the East or Easterly winds blowing across Europe to get a big freeze going with proper, long lasting cold and snow. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that's just the way, imho at least, the situation is currently. If it's any consolation things are very similar across the Alps with hardly any snow around below 2000m. Things can change quickly in weather land however so here's hoping and fingers crossed!
