How long left on your Passport

Does anybody know how long you must have left on your passport to travel to Bulgaria?

Just checked passports and my daughters runs out at the end of June Sad

Thanks sophia.

I have just found the thread and also went on the Foreign and Commonwealth website. We go on Weds so was in panic mode! It appears that it is ok just to be valid for the duration of your stay and no more.

Got my ticket from Balkan and it says minimum 3 months validity from date of return.

There is exactly 3 months to the day left on mine. The woman in the post office told me that I had to check as that might not be enough. I can confirm as above, after checking the Foreigh and Commonwealth website and calling them up, as long as you have 1 day left on your passport, you will be ok for BG

What is the point of an expiry date if it actually expires before this date to visit some countries?

Not sure what your point is Chris? If it expires BEFORE your departure date then you will not be allowed to travel.

If you mean why does it have to be longer than your intended stay, this I presume is in case you should decide to extend your stay.

Funny really. Apart from skiers boarders and business owners who from the uk is going to want to overstay in Bulgaria. The average wage is £50 per week.
