Snow Cannon Development Borovets

After the poor snow this winter and the promise by Borosport posted on here that they would develop more snow cannons can anyone in resort confirm if they have either started any work on this or plan to soon. Any news of other developments in resort would be interesting also. I think Borosport need to invest to attract people back and maintain people picking Borovets for their skiing holiday.

Yes Borosport have started work, they are putting the water pipes in for snow cannons on Sitnyakovo.

Hi SP,Its the area to the left of the rila reds. Get on chairlift next to chervana zernamma ( not spelt right ) and is the green that runs into the blue and onto the royal residence skiway and down to rila and the reds that are at the top as well.

Always life here Pabs. John, yes mate keeping well thanks, trust the three of you are too? Shame they are not putting cannons on the Marky runs or even the pathway. Went to Bansko for the day and they had cannons on their equivalent to the Musala path which runs all the way into the townre:Snow Cannon Development Borovets

We are all well thanks, arrived in Samokov about two hours ago, staying at nicks. Going to check out sitnyakovo area this week personally. It would make sense cannoning marky area as colder and could start making snow earlier then possible to open earlier. Reservoir could then refill before required for other areas, hey but what do we know!!! Will post my findings later in the week. Will also be popping into the flowers to say hello to Kas and Bobby.

I walked up to the top of the sitnyakovo chair. Borosports have indeed started working on the water pipes for the snow cannons. A large trench has been dug from the top of the green to the bottom of the button lift it then veers to the left and follows the pathway to the red. They have been working on the two sitnyakovo reds at the top, appears they are widening them,not too sure about cannons there but does look possible but going up again later in the week to see if can confirm ...

A. Worker told me the intention was to widen the very narrow sitnyakovo red and level it a bit , snow cannon it and join it to the rila slopes but I can't be sure. Boro sports should be congratulated and maybe if they see this post might be prepared to post there own more accurate picture of all developments.
