Thought I'd try and lighten the mood a bit, snow is forecast Thursday PM, all day Friday then Saturday PM with lower temps so the snow cannons can also come on. I do hope so. Link belowhttp://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Borovets/6day/mid

I will keep my fingers crossed for you all; I leave on Friday and we have managed to ski all day every day but it's getting more and more limited by the day. The locals are saying it's the warmest winter in memory. Hopefully it will change so they have a chance to get something from the season. It needs at least a foot of snow in a very quickly now to get it back on track.

They must have short memories. All locals were saying exactly the same when we were there this time 2 years ago, when tempeartures were hitting 20 degrees every day at the Rila.re:Snow is on the way
Bloomin' hope so!We arrive on the 27th and this will be our third year running and we have chosen to go away later this year due to the snow being so pooh early in the season previously. Looks like whenever we book chooses to be the crap snow conditions!
Hopefully this forecast is accurate as others show it to be warm next week.

Light snow on the mountain nothing in Borovets town yet, how cold does it have to be for the cannons to come on! We're out tomorrow.re:Snow is on the way
I was told -4 but I don't know if that has been reached the past few days. We're heading out next saturday, 27th so fingers crossed!

Most of the cannons in Bulgaria are designed to work at levels between -2 and -10.Any warmer and the snow crystals will not form and the droplets will fall as rain. Any colder and
the droplets will form ice and it will form hailstones.

We were there Feb 2014, and the snow was pretty much non existent apart from over in Yastrebets and down the bottom slopes, really bad skiing. Looks much better on the webcams this year!

I sure hope so!Heading out on Tuesday, starting to think maybe I just have left it an extra few weeks!
