Whatever you do, make sure that you do not leave your ski gear outside, or even just inside the Happy End Bar in Bansko. We had 2 snowboards stolen from the rack just inside the door, and spoke to 2 other guys who also had their boards stolen.
You can leave your boots at the gondola station lockers. If you hire skis and boards from the hire place at the gondola you can use their lockers for them too.
There's quite a cottage industry going on at the (Not So) Happy End bar in Bansko................
Rented boards, perhaps? Don't worry, they'll show up.....
A week after you've left and paid for replacements.
Amongst the reps it's well known.............
If it's your own gear, then it's freelancers.

I've just bought a cheap bicycle combination lock for two quid and would recommend others going to do the same. Not strong enough to deter a determined thief (though even in Bansko I don't think someone's going to be brazen enough to tackle it in the clear light of day), but enough to stop someone picking up my board "accidentally".
I have booked a ski pack but not sure where it will be from, My husband is taking his board with hi so that is a bit worrying. what did you think of Bansk and where did you stay
They were hired boards so it was as if they were hand picked from a number of boards on the rack (inc some boards that were not hired which were thankfully not touched). You can always take your boards inside with you or home first. Apart from this we had a great time in Bansko. We stayed in an apartment thaT we rented for the week which was perfect.

You thread the cable through your bindings and then around the ski rack itself where you leave your ski's. Meaning that your typical wire cutters will not cut through the cable.

Also, I would NEVER leave my ski's/boots anywhere other than inside my hotel room with me.
And I'm not knocking Bulgarians/Banskonians, but as Hornster clearly agrees, TAKE A LOCK. Even a cheapy is better than none at all (actually I've just took a look at mine and it's better than I thought................if only I could get it open after forgetting the combination...... ).
