i too got my snowboard on the internet, the most important thing is to get the equipment that fits with your height, weight and ability.
you will pay extra for the popular brands(burton)but you will find that the unknown brands will offer a garauntee so if you do have problems it wont be money down the drain. Wink

Cheers Pete,

Yeah found that but just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? The bindings especially are really cheap (£35+) so just wondering if there too good to be true.

Bear in mind these will be our first boards, bindings etc and were still beginners so were not going to be needing top of the rang equipment.

We know the size of the boards we need but have only used the good old scratched boards at Xscape and a few dry ski slopes so were non the wiser.

I persume we wont be able to tell that much difference if we got these cheaper boards and bindings.

Cheers

It's really like any other sport Lindsay, you can pay very little for equiptment and enjoy it, or you can spend a fortune and not. But generally, the more you pay the better your equiptment should be. Quechua Skis that once retailed at over £500 are easily available now for just over £100, so there must be something that caused them to be so vastly reduced.

dont know what the score is with the shops being pulled down in pamps, but the orion factory close by has its own shop Wink
the boarding instructor we know actually took us into the factory and we had a good rummage through all the boards, we got two for abour £160 Razz
think we got two pairs of bindings for about £120 Confused

Hi Lindsay,

Where is the shop that you have found, I would not mind a look out of interest. If you're going to pamp's then you might get the gear there, if you know what you want.

Cheers
