Hi I'm coming out to ski in Borovets on saturday, but my mum is worried that I might get mauled by an eastern european brown bear as a romanian woman called Maria told mum that there were lots of them in this area.
Tom
When I was flying out to Borovets, I read in a magazine about a guy in Bulgaria that was killed by a bear. The bear attacked him, but he managed to fire the only bullet from his rifle and that scared the bear away. Instead of leaving like a sensible person, he chased the bear, the bear fought back and killed him.
So Pete, your right and wrong, right the most bears are in hibernation now, but there are some bears in Borovez National Park, fond some steps last year near the new four man, on hiking route to Mussala hut, but this was in Late November not in January. So Tom no problems.
