borovets for non-skiers

What is there to do, if you don't want to ski. It is our first family ski holiday and I'm hoping that we all take to it like ducks to water, but what if we don't? We are staying at the Lion- is there anywhere to hire sledges etc.

Any top tips would be welcome

re: borovets for non-skiers

Hi,

I just got back from there, and as a beginner I didn't take to the skiing very well. But I found plenty to do. You can do sledging (also known as Bumboarding), we saw loads of young kids doing that. You can also go skidooing which is fantastic. You can also go up on the gondola (cable car) to the highest parts of the mountains and just wander around, there are places to eat there and the views are wonderful. You can just catch the gondola back down when you are done. Hope that helps.

Hi Pam,
Iglika has saunas pool and massage very reasonable, plus cheap comfy bar. If you like horses you can also go riding, just up road to right(if facing) Iglika, have a good one Very Happy

wow- thanks for the fast replies! Sounds like it will be wonderful whatever. I'm really looking forward to it- we don't go until Feb half term, so a while to wait, but I'm actually more excited about this than our summer holiday!!

Try the brand new spa in the Ice Angels hotel on the Rila slopes, about 6 quid for as long as you like and you can even have choclate body wraps etc, heavanly and well worth the money. They do fab hot chocolate in their too.....

re: borovets for non-skiers

Wow that'll do for me. Am also worried I might not take to ski-ing and hoped there would be more to see and do for me and my friend while our kids are on the slopes. We have bought lift passes so the gondola up the mountain is a must - just not sure about strappin on skis but the bumboarding sounds great as am sure when (if) I tried skiing would spend most time on my a*** anyway! 31st is getting close now - am really excited. Is the Ice Angels hotel near to Rila Studios?

re: borovets for non-skiers

Im in Boro now and leave on Sunday. I had a bad accident on a red run yesterday and won't be fit to go skiing again before it's time to go home. There are thing to do and the hospitaility from the locals is great but I just want to get back up there...... Crying
I.m sure you will like skiing but there is a bit of a lack of green runs here
