how much for taxi to samokov

my mate told me we would be better to stock up on food in samakov as were in an apartmen bb at flora. How much is a cab ride to samakov and is it far? Do you think its worth it?

I don't know how much the taxi is, but it's definitely worth it. It only takes 10 minutes.You only need to go once and stock up for the week.Everything's cheaper than in the little Borovets supermarkets too.

Last time I had someone in Samokov order a taxi to go back to Borovets. It cost me 20 Lev. Another alternative is to take the minibus that leaves every 30' from the Ela hotel and goes to the bus station in Samokov. It also stops in front the Bila (discount store) in Samokov.

Hi Lou,
it's the way francks mentioned it. If you take the minibus in front of the Samokov Hotel it costs you 2 Levs per person. Back it is the same, so keep in mind where you have to get in on the way back. The only problem is that the last bus from Samokov town is leaving 7 o'clock. A taxi costs you between 15 and 20 Levs.

cheers for the info guys. Do you have to be a resident of the hotel or can anyone use the minibus service? God i hope tnis weather gets colder. Only 16 more sleeps.

you can always walk down the hill from the gondola and catch the bus from the bus stop outside VillaPark apartments,, think thats 2 levs as well

Hi Lou,
the minibuses are part of public transport and can be used by everybody. The only advantage or disadvantage- they can only take 20 people ( I think in bulgaria they would also take 30 ). We have never been left outside and this was our 15 th time in Borovets.
