Get some elbow, knee, wrist, ankle guards and a helmet as you will be doing a lot of falling about in the first couple days. Enjoy it and good luck!! Very Happy Very Happy

Blimey Horster. You must look like a armoured knight when you're boarding.

Gloves with built in wrist protectors and a helmet me thinks is plenty and if you're going to get new boarding pants, try and get the ones with knee padding.

Best advice I could give, if you can afford it, get goretex. You need your pants to be as water proof as possible when you're resting on your butt or knees.

Just remember if you fall, land on ya butt, not ya face. It's softer.

Hoping to book up a last minute week on 29th...

Where does one get gloves with built in wrist supports? Do you really need them?

re: re:

I managed without any knee, elbow or wrist guards. The worst injury I got was falling over on the ice at 2.30 in the morning and landing on my wrist. Ouch. Booze Booze Booze

If the snows really soft like it is at the moment I'm sure 99 out 100 falls you'll be fine but the 1% could be painfull.

If you go into most ski shops and ask for snowboard gloves you'll find that these days a lot have got built in wrist supports.

The most common part to hurt on skis are your knees, on snowboards it's your wrists.

Some people will say its a waste of money but if you're going to buy a good pair of snowboard gloves and you're a beginner you might as will get the ...

The gloves that I use has a removable support which gives you the best of both worlds.

Happy boarding Alison.
