'Mountain' insurance

Hello Everyone...

I regularly see Mountain insurance mentioned in the context of when you buy a lift pass.... What does this actually cover you for?

I've never expected it to be a substitute for travel insurance, but it's never been clear to me exactly what you would get from it....

Cheers!

re:'Mountain' insurance

I think it covers you for being rescued if you have an accident on the mountain, but not the cost of the actual treatment. My husband was carried off in the mountain ambulance one year and taken to the medical centre, but our bills only covered the treatment received so definitly not a substitute for travel insurance!

Yes gets you off the mountain and covers any medical at gondola station but should you need to go to hospital etc it does not cover that. Get Other insurance juast in case.

re:'Mountain' insurance

Now all passes include 'mountain insurance' whether from agent or the gondola... We have seen agent prices and they are no different than last year, the actual gondola prices for some reason still are not posted, the 20th being given as the date... strange Confused

re:'Mountain' insurance

It is posted at the base station that skiing/boarding outside of the marked pistes is illegal, this basically is covering Ulen's behind, but you are right, the basic insurance will not cover you... It is possible to purchase through an agent the 'all mountain cover', 1 year is about 60lv (or it was last year)
