£'s or Dollars

Hi guys sorry to bother you again, can't decide which currency to take and our tour operator is not being very helpful, should we take dollars or pounds sterling? Also should we take some leva to start us off. Can we use debit cards in Bulgaria our travel agent as said not to due to high comission? Also does anyone know what the food is like in the Rila?

pounds or euros are best then you don't loose changing them twice. you can get levs here the rates are about the same.

Similar sort of question. My brothers off to some part of Europe just afterwards so is having to get Euro's anyway for that. Will he get a better rate of exchange if he takes Euros' to Pamps since he's going to have pay commission anyway for the euro's for the next holiday. Does that make sense?
Me I'll be taking pounds as I'm not going to be using euro's for anything else in the foreseeable future.
