hi going to Bansko this year for first time just wondering can any one suggest a hotel in which is similar in location {to the slopes) and type to the rila in borovets. would be greatful for any advice thanks .re: Bansko hotels
Nothing is right on the slopes but you can get close to the Gondola. New 5 star called the Arena then there is the perun (v nice) I satyed there last Jan and then the Strazhite which is also very nice. The Arena is right next to the Gondola station, the Perun and Strazhite about 5 mins walk.re: Bansko hotels
Hi PhilAll of the hotels have a good bus service to the slopes. I stayed in the Pirin this year which was also excellent. Because Bansko is a real town and not a purpose built resort a lot of the hotels are a bus ride away apart from the new ones like the Arena and the Perun. Personally I would find the Arena a little too far from the town for the evening.

Hi PhilThe Strazhite is good all rounder for proximity to slopes and town. Hotel seemed clean and friendly when ever I went in to change currency. By the way it's better to change currency out in ansko and do it at the banks..

hi wen to bansko last year and stayed in the orphey hotel.
very nice, rooms cleaned every day and staff as help fully as they could be. they also had 2 new mini busses running from the hotel to ski lift every 10-15 min as the distriptions of distances to the gondola are shear make beleive.
a good tip is to book B&B as all the food in the hotels we've stayed in are not very good but the local resteraunts are exallent (about 7pund for 2 course meal with a couple of drinks) so save money and ...
