bansko ski room charges

my family and i are going to bansko in feb 06 the tour operator is trying to charge 4 of us £17 each for the use of the ski storage room in the hotel is this normal for bulgaria or are they trying to rip us of masny thanks

Hi Paul,

we got charged the 17 last year but this included carriage and storeage at the gondola station, dunno if your not taking your own stuff

No charges last year at the Pirin. Heated rack for boots too.

Which hotel and operator? I see the Balkan brochure quotes £17 to take your own skis and it is worded in a way that suggest it could apply to boots. If your luggage is within the allowance, how would they know if the boots were in a suitcase? I've never heard of anyone having to pay for taking boots before but suppose as more of us go skiing more will buy their own equipment and the operators will look at anyway to make money from us!!!!

it's a rip off, if you only have boot place them in your room. i have been charged once for storage of my board and boots, but you got most of it back on return of your key. balken holidays usually only charge 17 pound as an excess lugage fee on the plane. try calling them and asking what the charge is actually for and it thats not listed in the broucher refuse to pay it.
